machine binding tutorial

machine binding is not the traditional way of binding a quilt, but i'm not a hand sewer so it is my personal favorite.

there are many ways to bind a quilt, but this is the way i like to do it:

wof is an abbreviation for width of fabric and everything but the finishing top stitch is sewn with a 1/4" seam allowance. i like to use a cotton thread for the top thread in my machine
and an invisible thread or clear thread for the bobbin. this gives the top a nice finished look and leaves the bottom stitch less visible.

i like using my walking foot when putting on binding, but if you don't have one it's not necessary. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

ENJOY!
